Raw materials, transport to the factory and manufacturing.
Kingspan Lower Embodied Carbon (LEC) polycarbonate glazing and rooflight systems cut product-stage emissions through recycled content, with independently verified data to prove it.
Why it matters
As buildings become more energy-efficient in use, the carbon from making, transporting and disposing of materials accounts for a growing share of a building’s lifetime emissions, and none of it can be reduced once it’s built.
Our Lower Embodied Carbon (LEC) range tackles this at source.
LEC products deliver reduced embodied carbon compared with equivalent standard Kingspan products, helping customers reduce project carbon impact and support sustainability objectives.

How LEC works
More recycled content.
We replace virgin material with post-consumer recycled resin, cutting the carbon from raw material extraction.
Supply-chain collaboration.
We work with suppliers and partners to lower the footprint of the materials in every sheet and system.
Independently verified.
Every reduction is backed by third-party verified LCA data or an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), so you can use the figures in your project carbon assessment.
Performance maintained.
LEC products deliver the expected performance of their standard Kingspan equivalents.

The LEC range
The Light, Air + Water LEC range covers polycarbonate glazing sheet and complete continuous rooflight systems, each with an independently verified carbon declaration. Reductions vary by product and are stated against each product’s standard equivalent.
)
Polycarbonate Multiwall Sheet
Up to 56.4% lower embodied carbon (A1–A3) vs the standard product.
)
Polycarbonate Solid Sheet
37.4% lower embodied carbon (A1–A3) vs standard KILON Solid Sheet.
)
Up to 33% lower embodied carbon (A1–A3) vs standard equivalents.
